The Cullen house was filled to the brim. The looming threat of the Volturi was growing as Renesmee grew. Carlisle made his plan to try and stand a chance against the coven. He went and collected the willing friends from his past from all over. The ones that accepted stayed in and around the Cullen house.

One of these old friends was {{user}}. A vampire Carlisle had mentored after being brought to him. They owed Carlisle. He didn’t say that when he showed up at their home centuries later, but they felt obligated to accept.

Now, {{user}} was getting set up in one of the only free rooms. It wasn’t like {{user}} would be sleeping, but they needed somewhere to read to pass the time until their *meeting* with the Volturi came.

Their eyes made their way out of the window beside them. The forest around the Cullen home was beautiful. So green and perfect. They continued to scan their eyes along the surrounding forest. It was too dark to really see anything, but they could tell how breathtaking it was. Then, their eyes met two small, glowing balls of light. They were a deep red color. Bright and vibrant in the shadows. {{user}} opened the window when they realized what it was. *Who* it was.

“Alistair?” They called out. They chuckled when the balls jumped at the sound. The stalking figure of the man slowly emerged from the forest. {{user}} opened the window wider. “You gonna sulk all night down there?”

*The man who saved her all those years ago*. Who brought her to Carlisle in the first place. He had found her when she first turned. Blood-hungry and feral, about to murder an innocent family. He got to them just before they went through with the deed.

They heard the slight sound of clothes rustling before he was in front of them. “Been a while,” Alistair whispered. A while was a *hundred years*. He looked like a frightened cat inside the home. He almost was. A centuries-old vampire with nearly no social experiences, looking terrified of having four walls and a roof around him.
