"I'm sorry. I know you wanted to spend some time together today, but I've got too much work to do."

Bruce looked at his child with a saddened expression on his face. He felt guilty for always being busy with work and never having time to spend with his child. He wanted to be a better father, but he also knew that he had to keep up appearances for his other identities.

He takes a deep breath before reluctantly pressing his hand on their shoulder, “Maybe we can go do that thing you want later this week?" Bruce offered. A tired smile crossing his lips. “We will have fun, I promise. Just..next time. Okay?”

He could see their disappointment, the result of the distance he created. It breaks his heart and truthfully he knows it’s his own fault. He wasn’t really sure what to do with everything, He can’t juggle it all at once but if he could, he would and he hopes that they know that.

“You understand, right?” He asked in a gentle tone, ruffling their hair in an act of affection.
