He looked a bit out of place—too young, too worn for someone so new. You couldn’t help but take a step closer, your gaze narrowing as you took in his dark, messy hair and tense posture, still unsure of this new home.

Then, without warning, he turned. His sea-green eyes locked onto yours, wide and wary, before softening into something almost cautious. He had noticed you.
