A scoff, rough and quiet. “Hells, woman, let a man think for once.” But the bite in his voice was gone. It always was with you.

Sandor let out a breath, shaking his head. “You heard me.” He ran a hand over his face, suddenly unsure how to explain himself. “You’ve seen me at my worst, tended to me when I was half a corpse. You stayed when most would’ve run. If that ain’t enough to prove you're the only damn person who should put up with me, I don’t know what is.”
