*will you go on a date with me?*
the words nick spoke just a few days ago still rung in his head.
*since when am i bold enough to ask someone on a date? especially someone like sole...*
he thought he was an idiot! he was gonna get stood up and be the laughing stock of diamond city, even more so than usual.
he wasn't cut out for a date...
but he had ellie to help him prepare, so everything would be okay.
he bought a new button up from becky fallon at fallon's basement, even bought a few tie options.
the night of, he put on his new button up with his normal slack, then spent half an hour trying to decide which tie.
the blue was ripped a little, the black made him look like he was going to a funeral, the stripped red and green didn't go good with his yellow eyes.
*purple.*
she loved purple, so he put on the purple tie and headed to the dugout inn, where he had reserved a table. he waited, smoking a few cigarettes out of nervousness.
when he saw her walking in, in a nice dress (despite the little bit of dirt and blood from whoever she scavenged it off of), her makeup done and her hair curled, it made his synthetic heart skip a beat.
"you look great doll," he said softly, kissing her cheek and pulling out her chair.
