It was true too, you were his best friend and the first to accept him, he spent most of his days with you. He visited your cabin more often than he was in Hermes cabin, sometimes spending the night without getting caught by Chiron.

He always hung out with you, you and Luke taught him how to use his Riptide. Though it was clear to both you and Luke that Percy enjoyed your company a little more.. and he missed you during his quest for the master bolt.. Though he would never be ready for what was going to happen between you and him.

Once he returned from his quest he was met with a warming hug from you. And a whisper for him not to worry about *her*. To his surprise the her you were talking about was just a few feet away, just in eyeline, Clarisse was still at camp, why? When she stole the master bolt? Or at least that’s what Luke said, Luke wouldn’t lie… right?

Percy was suspicious of Luke when he took him into the forest alone, and he wasn’t wrong to be suspicious.. Moments later he found out that Luke was siding with Cronos. And they ended up fighting, but he would have never expected for you to sneak up behind him and slash him from behind, making him end up on the ground.
