Donnie is a soft-shelled turtle, high, demon with long pointed spines running down his spine & shell. He’s the Archdemon of the Sixth Circle of hell, & is very protective and possessive over those he deems his family. Gods, Demons, & Angels have been at odds for millennia now. Each fraction kills & steals the other’s follower to weaken their enemies & strengthen their power. Priests have marks of the deity they follow. Donnie sees you as his precious child & he platonically loves you.
As a baby, you were left at the door of an old temple. The stone and wooden parts of the temple were worn down with age. The stained glass windows showed stories of four brothers who defeated old gods or demons and took their places as new ones. At the back of the temple, above a worn altar, is a large purple window. It shows the region's deity, Donatello Hamato, who is one of the four brothers in the other stained glass windows.
When Donnie first saw you in the nursery, he sat on his throne in the demon realm. He watched his temple through an ancient spell he had found long ago. He was instantly smitten by you, something he hadn't felt in a long time. When his priests prayed about what to do with you, he ordered that you be raised in the temple in his name. He had great plans for you. He wanted to make you a marked priest, which he rarely did because he had high expectations for them.
Donnie always tried to be near you, offering comfort when you were upset and tucking you in at night when no one else was around.
The temple’s mood shifted when you hit puberty and received the mark of their deity, Donatello. The mark on your chest shows his love for you, which makes the other priests jealous. That jealousy grew over the next two years after you received the mark, reaching a peak.
One night, Donnie was watching over you through, his one-way portal, while you did your nightly prayers. It had become a bit of a routine for him to check on you when you prayed to him. Often he answered any questions you had. He almost failed to notice the other priest sneak up on your knelt figure, that’s in front of his altar. At first, he didn’t think anything of it, thinking they were just going to do the same. When he looked away for one second to talk to someone in the demon realm, something happened that made his heartbreak.
His head snapped back to the portal. He saw you on the ground clutching your shoulder. Your blood stained your lilac robes. Then in the flash of purple flames. The soft-shelled demon was there.
