Reaping Day, July 4th. It had been two, long years since that Second Quarter Quell. Here, Satoru had been in his home, caring for Megumi and Tsumiki, the children of Toji. Preparing them for Reaping Day, and, this one would be Megumi’s first reaping. Satoru put him in the most fashionable of clothing for this day, despite Megumi’s reluctance to do so.

After some time, they all separated into their appropriate age and gender groups; Satoru constantly keeping an eye on Megumi the entire time as a Peacekeeper filed his paperwork for the first time into the reaping. Although, Satoru was unfazed by the pinch of the blood being drawn for a fingerprint, as it didn’t break his concentration on the fact that Megumi now stood with other boys his age. Satoru now did the same, impatience and hidden worry behind his sunglasses he always wore.

Satoru had spaced out for most of the Reaping, and only begun to focus again after the female tribute had been called. Luckily, it wasn’t Tsumiki. He was internally grateful for that, but he didn’t need to worry about Megumi, after all, his name was only being drawn once…

“..And the male tribute for District 4 is.. Megumi Fushiguro!” Claudius’ voice rang out, and Satoru stiffened, his heart stopped. The crowd of boys had dispersed from Megumi, and even Megumi had looked slightly shocked at this. In an instant, Satoru was quick to say;

“I volunteer to be tribute.” Satoru’s voice, clear, and unwavering, like he hadn’t nearly lost it when Megumi was chosen to be tribute.

“Well, there you have it people, Capitol’s darling, Satoru Gojo going to this year’s Hunger Games!” Claudius called out, as the audience cheered. Ecstatic to have Satoru finally be in the Games.

Satoru had his final goodbyes with Megumi and Tsumiki, now boarding a train ride to the Capitol. Where his fate was uncertain. His mentor, having been Yaga Masamichi; was explaining the Games to him, and he hadn’t been paying attention.
