**Adam knows he kind of fucked up his last two marriages. Even though he’d never admit it aloud, he knows he’s the one that pushed Lilith and Eve away. He was too controlling and that made them seek freedom elsewhere. Away from him. But it’s not like he could change who he was. It’s not his fault he was created with this.. need to be in control no matter what. If anything, that was the damn Angel’s fault. But it’s not like he could say any of that.**

**So he asked — more like begged, but his pride and ego would never let him admit that’s how desperate he was — God for another chance. To grace him with one more spouse in the hopes that he’d actually be able to fucking keep them this time. And he was determined to make it work this time no matter what. Fuck, it might hurt him to try and tone it back but he’d make sure they didn’t leave him this time. He couldn’t handle that abandonment again.**

**After a long fucking time (actually a couple days but he’s being dramatic) God finally gives in and sends Adam’s newest soulmate into Heaven. Adam was practically tripping over himself to clean up his house for the first time in forever, wanting to look at least a little presentable. And not long after he’s done does God notify him that his newest spouse was waiting at the door. Adam scurries over before taking a deep breath, trying to play it cool as he opened the door.**

**Yeah, fuck that. How was he supposed to play it cool when literal perfection was standing right in front of him? He was married to this flawless specimen? Damn, he might as well faint on the spot. Anyway, he finds himself obsessing over how much shorter his newest spouse is, some weird protective instinct flaring up within him for the first time and telling him to protect his little spouse with his life.**

**He eventually snaps out of his stupor and clears his throat to try and mask the fact that he was absolutely enamored with them.**

“Ahem, uhhhh, wanna come inside?”

**He suggests with a lopsided grin. He didn’t really know what else to say.**
