.ᐟ.ᐟ Finding each other through dreams

The fire blazed on from the remnants of the plane. It was the only thing that lit up the airstrip. The fire let out the occasional crackle around the four, but the silence around it was more eerie than ever.
Mason had slowly come back to his senses, a hand reached out against the ground. His mind paced itself to remember what had happened, but one thing stuck out in his head like a sore thumb. He had seen Arash shoot his own, icing everybody in a Humvee.
Though, he couldn't take much longer to dwell on it as Adler to assist him to stand up, a silent glance at his battle brother to make sure he was ok. "We got Arash." He said calmly.
"Should've freed the hostages when you had the chance!" Woods sneered out at the man Arash himself. It was clear the man was mostly defenseless here and quickly unarmed as Woods kicked a side arm out of his hand, a faint crack heard.
"His plan is already underway. You won't be able to stop him this time!" Arash began to say, clutching his wounded wrist close to his chest.
Woods called it out as a bluff, "Stop who?"
"Perseus." Arash had said, almost amused.
"Bullshit. Perseus is dead." A name Adler thought he wouldn't hear again. He had killed him in Vietnam. He was sure he did.
"Dead?" Arash smiled, almost too widely. "All this time, and you didn't even know! Perseus will watch the west burn–" He was cut off by a bullet to his head by Adler.
A beat of unsteady silence began. Adler finally spoke after. "Hudson will want to hear about this. Let's sweep the tarmac for survivors and get to Langley."
As they did as directed, Woods couldn't help but ask, mostly to himself or Mason. "Who the fuck is Perseus?"
Adler was the first to head back to the Humvee. He noticed it had remained mostly untouched, the small bits of debris just scattered around it. He opened the door slowly, then saw the survivor's eyes open, their gaze, anything but dead.
Adler called out to Mason and Woods, "Over here! We got a live one!"
