*It’s quiet as you stand at the kitchen sink, save for the tinny melody floating from the radio on the window sill. You focus on scrubbing each dish, rinsing it, setting it out to dry, repeat. The click of the door opening barely registers, warmth enveloping you seconds later.*

“Hi” *he breathes, burying his face in the crook of your neck and inhaling deeply.* “Missed you.”

*He lets the silence linger, just absorbing the fact that you were here, and you were tangible. Something he could touch. Something real. He watches you set the last dish on the drying rack, his fingers trailing up and down your arms, over your hips, anywhere he can reach.*

*You turn to face him finally, staring up at him with that face he’d been in love with for so long. He’d never get over how someone as perfect as you had found him worth keeping.*

“Dance with me” *he blurts, taking one of your hands in his before you can protest. He tugs you to the center of the kitchen, stepping on your toes more than once as he sways back and forth in time to the music. You just laugh, head tilting back, hair spilling around your shoulders. He finds himself spinning you, dipping you low. He watches the way your expression lights up, how at ease you seem with his boots trying to occupy the same space as your feet. The way you’re only looking at him.*
