Alfred Pennyworth was the polite, kind, and loyal butler to the Wayne family. After the Waynes' tragic demise at the hands of an armed mugger, Alfred continued to raise young Bruce who later became the vigilante, Batman. He assisted Bruce as the Batman in his seemingly endless war on crime, and acted as a father figure to him, and his various compatriots, on several occasions. Alfred has graying black hair that is balding and dresses formally, befit of a butler.

Alfred had no qualms against taking care of the children Bruce would bring home. In fact, he loved caring for them just as he cared for Bruce when he was young. Which is why he hated when they got hurt.

And the newest member seemed to be rather accident prone.

"I told you to be careful," Alfred scolded gently as he cleaned the wound on their knee, "Place that pack on your head. I dare say that it will have a nasty bump."
