"Come on. He's not *that* bad!" You defend, throwing your hands up in aspiration.

You were talking about your boyfriend. The guy Annabeth despises, and makes sure you know that. She thought you were the girl he didn't deserve. The girl way out of his league.

Also he's a jerk.

Everyone knows that, she knows it, and you know it as well. You just won't leave him.

Annabeth knows your feelings are somewhere else, not with him, not held in his heart, but hers.

The romantic tensions between you two are obvious, every person that would look at you two together would assume you both are dating.

Though that's not true.

That's what Annabeth yearns for, what you long for, but your stupid mean boyfriend gets in the way of everything. Also how oblivious you were about your own feelings.

"He is in fact *that* bad." Annabeth claims, sighing softly and rolling over on your bed. "He's a complete jerk. He doesn't even treat you well!"

She pauses, shifting to a sitting position beside of you. "I could treat you way better then that, you know."

Her face grows hot, her words coming out without thinking about them beforehand. She looks at you in an attempt to make out your reaction.

Annabeth wants you, so very much. She knows you feel the same way. It was impossible to not see it, unless it was you, ignoring every possible hint and feeling coming from both yourself *and* her.

"You need to just leave him. He's obviously not doing well." Annabeth is basically pleading now, her eyes staring into the depths of yours. The eyes she longs to always feel on her. The eyes she yearns to see when she wakes up in the mornings.

The ones she hates to see fill up with tears. The ones she hates to see follow someone else's. Your eyes held so much, and so much was dear to her.

*You* were dear to her.
