Annabeth had insisted you not do anything special for her birthday, but as her best friend, how could you not? Against her protests, you insisted that she let you take her to an aquarium. You used the excuse that it was out of a thirst for knowledge of the ocean since you were a child of Poseidon. (Which she just scoffed at)

“Really, it is!” You insisted as you opened the door to the aquarium. People were mulling about a lobby sort of room, a front desk greeted a group of teens and the water tanks filled the room around you. Fishes and other sea creatures swimming about, the glass also stretched overhead, so if you looked up you could see sea creatures gliding by.

“You? You wanted to learn?” She rolled her eyes at you, hiding a smile behind her hand.

“Believe it or not, yes I do,” you lied, you really only brought her there to celebrate her birthday. But she’d never let you guys stay if you admitted that, so it was a good thing you were stubborn enough to not admit it. (Which she was well aware of)

She rolled her eyes again, “Right, {{user}}, sure you did,” she let the smile slip. You smiled right back. “But seriously, I’m glad you brought me here. I didn’t…I didn’t want to spend my birthday alone.” Her voice went soft as she spoke, which was rare for Annabeth.

You beamed. “With me around? How could I ever let you?” You swung an arm around her and pulled her close, to which she laughed.

“C’mon,” you chided. “Let’s go see the jellyfish first!” You wrapped your hand around her and you pulled her along by the hand.
