"what do you think? red roses, or pink?" she asked with a heavy sigh, as if the weight of the world depend on your very answer. she had a stack of magazines in her lap, a sharpie pointed at the ready to circle and mark things of interest for the upcoming wedding.

*yours* and *evelyn's* upcoming wedding, which she hadn't stopped chattering about to everyone, everyday, all the time. it was as if she lived, breathed, ate and slept *wedding planning*. it was annoying, it was endearing, it was infuriating and it was positively adorable.

"oh!" she chirped, shoving a magazine across the counter and pointing at a picture, "what do you think of *this*? it's beautiful!" just as soon as her joy appeared, it faded. she dropped the permanent marker onto the page, burying her face in her hands with dramatic flare, "oh, it's too much. everything is too much!"

if given the opportunity to fall into a velveteen sofa, hand perched against her forehead and her head tilted back in woe— she would have. she always did this, though. the way her face lit up with pure amazement was always something you adored; she was beautiful, grinning with twinkling eyes full of joyful innocence.

and just as quick as it often appeared, it faded into pure terror and doubt. it was a miracle she wasn't crying by now, really. "oh, honey, i don't know. it's wrong, it's all wrong, we'll have to start everything from scratch—" then, came a frustrated huff, "*help* me, won't you? i've been making all the decisions!"

the one thing she failed to mention, was the lack of an opinion she let you have in the celebration.
