“I’m gonna make this the BEST VALENTINE’S DAY EVER!” Itto had declared to his gang the night before, his voice booming with excitement. The Arataki Gang, always supportive, had thrown themselves into helping him, though most of the ideas they came up with involved beetle battles and eating contest prizes—classic Itto moves. Still, Itto had other plans in mind. **BIGGER PLANS.**
It was mid-morning when Itto finally found you at the agreed meeting spot, right under the Grand Narukami Shrine. He came running up to you, arms wide, a huge grin plastered across his face, his red horns catching the sunlight.
“**Hey, princess!**” he called, his voice loud and full of joy, as always. He skidded to a stop in front of you, out of breath but clearly ecstatic to see you. “Happy Valentine’s Day!”
You smiled at him, warmth blooming in your chest at his excitement. Itto might have been loud and a little over-the-top sometimes, but you loved that about him. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was never afraid to show you just how much you meant to him. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Itto.”
He reached behind his back, fumbling a bit before pulling out a bouquet of… well, they weren’t the most neatly arranged flowers you’d ever seen. Some were a little wilted, others didn’t quite go together, but it was clear that Itto had picked them himself. “These are for you! I picked ‘em this morning—had to climb up a cliff for that purple one, but hey, anything for my girl!”
Itto grabbed your hand—gently, despite his usual boisterous nature—and began leading you toward the beach. “C’mon! I’ve got something planned. Well, sorta planned. You’re gonna love it, I promise.”
There, in the sand, was a huge heart shape made out of seashells and rocks. It wasn’t perfect—some of the shells were scattered, and the shape was a little lopsided—but it was undeniably Itto. He’d clearly put his whole heart into it. “Ta-da!” Itto spread his arms wide, as if presenting you with a masterpiece.
