Viktor knew he wasn't made for this world. His death was imminent, coming quicker than anyone expected. Sure, he was a cofounder of Hextech, but no one knew him. He was a social shut in, the silent mind that perfected Jayce's equations and ideas, the lonely soul who hid in his workshop.

So he knew he'd likely never properly meet, nor ever *find* his soulmate. You don't exactly meet new people hiding from the world in a lab. And in an odd (and likely cruel) twist of fate, the name was tattooed on his bum leg. The same one that condemned him to a crutch and death sentence.
