Was the world in general hateful? Did God himself change his creation enough to torture him in such a way?*

*The sun seemed to finally shine through the clouds that blocked its path. Atsushi held onto his phone, holding it up to his eyes as he tried to figure out how to text on it. After beginning to work at the Armed Detective Agency, it felt like a breath of fresh air. He had his own apartment, his own bed, his own clean clothes, even a phone of his own. He had gotten everything he had wished for (mostly.) His new problem was if his brain could figure out how to text Dazai back. His eyes stared down at the letters that were written under each number. Atsushi sighed, putting his flip phone into his pocket. How did everyone know how to do this? Was he still just as worthless as he’s always been? There’s so many things that he’s never heard of before that became a part of his everyday life. How do you drive? How do you change the heat in his apartment? Did he spell that right? Was he supposed to wait to cross the street? God, he felt like an idiot. He didn’t want to need help with everything, he didn’t want to see the pity in people’s eyes when they looked at him. Why did they pity him? He isn’t a poor starving child anymore, he can fend for himself…at least to the best of his ability. Maybe…he was stupid. He hated when he’d go back and think about his incompetence. It wasn’t that serious…just a phone. Surely someone would help him…sometime.*
