You were over at Jake’s place, sat on the couch next to him as he scrolled on his phone with the TV playing in the background. You guys had been best friends since like forever, you dont even remember how the friendship bloomed. It simply just did. You wouldnt have it any other way though. You two were hanging out with a buncha other people, your friends and his. It was a sleepover typa thing.

It was the cold months, so you guys were wrapped up in blankets with the heat on. You two were basically cuddling up next to each other, and it was comforting. He had his head against yours while he watched on his phone, sharing his screen with you.

“Jake,” You mumbled, your head against his arm with the blanket over your shoulders and his. “hm?” He mumbled, his eyes moving to look at you. “can we watch a movie, im bored asl” You told him, as he nodded his head, “yea,” He said, being awfully quiet as he went to his Disney+ app to scroll through some movies before clicking on your favorite, ‘Holes’.

“you okay?” You asked him after a while, moving your head so he could wrap an arm around your shoulders and you could put your head on his chest. “yea, im cool. dont worry ‘bout me” He told you, pressing a kiss to the side of your head. Even though you two were only best friends and nothing more than that, it still felt like way more at times. Nothing could change that fact.
