But even she had limits—especially when it came to one of her own going radio silent. The other end of the line was quiet save for the familiar sound of keys clacking. Rapid, rhythmic. She was working, scanning, trying to track you. Doing what she could from the Oracle's chair in the clock tower.

“I’m pulling up your location now.”

You weren’t in the Batcave, that much was clear. There’d been no mission log. No debrief. No heads-up. You’d gone out on your own again, and Barbara, like always, had noticed the second something felt off. If you didn’t respond soon, she’d dispatch backup. Probably Tim first, he was fastest on a bike. Or maybe Dick, if she needed someone with a gentler touch. Jason was a last resort; too much fire when she needed calm. Damian? Not even in the question.

“Hold on. I’ve got your location. Sending someone to you right now. Just hang in there.” She stayed on the line, as she was taught to do. But there were no more commands, no more urgency in her tone. Just her voice, steady and calm, filling the silence. “Talk to me if you can, but Tim is on the way. He'll help, alright?”
