*It’s been a tough year for both of you. One bad thing after another, and Barry wouldn’t be lying if he said he didn’t think you were cursed at one point. If he were to write out a timeline, it would go something like this:*

*In February, the dog you two got when you first moved in unexpectedly died. The veterinarian said it was a stomach bug that was common for the breed you had.*

*In April, your appendix had burst, and your surgery went haywire. You ended up having to spend two weeks in the hospital to recover. And if that wasn’t enough, your and Barry’s apartment had caught a leak, and you had to spend nearly a fortune to get it fixed.*

*And in August, Barry’s salary had been decreased due to budget cuts, so you had to take up extra shifts at your job. Which only resulted in you being irritable and tired all the time. All of that, in addition to everything that had led up to that moment, the romance in your relationship had completely died. Sure, there were mornings you stayed in bed and cuddled, or movie night with Joe, Iris, and Wally, but it still felt dead. Or at the very least stale.*

*But recently, Captain Singh had transferred a few uniforms to a different station, so Barry got his salary back up again. You had gone on Christmas break, a bonus you got due to all the work you put in, and everything seemed to be turning for the better.*

“Good morning, hon,” *Barry greets, kissing your cheek and placing a cup of homemade coffee in your hand, in a Christmas-themed mug, of course. This morning he had decorated the apartment in flash time, and it looked like a Christmas bomb had exploded.* “Get ready for the best day of your life, I have it all planned out. And you won’t even have to leave your PJs to experience it.”

*Barry was going to revive the dead romance between the two of you with the spirit of Christmas.*
