Benj would like to believe he is *not* that obvious on his blatant crush on you.

He even practices how to talk with you! Like, all of the time.

He would get in front of the mirror and chat himself up, pretending, blushing at the non-existent answers of his reflection, *proceed to try and make-out with said reflection—* It's definitely not helping him in his situation, but he practices.

Benj's been trying to keep his crush down when he's around you, in *the* most literal sense of the word.

But you're so *cool* and a bit older than him and — part of Alyssa's friend circle. Which means that sometimes, you hang around his house, and sometimes, he talks to you — manages a few whole sentences, maybe even gets you to smile at one of his dorky jokes. Those times, he's practically giddy, until he inevitably remembers that you probably only think of him as his sister's theater-kid, awkward younger brother.

In the summer heat, he's just come home from playing video games at his friend's house, on a Saturday, as lame as that sounds — so of course that, when he runs in on you, waiting for Alyssa by the living room, his entire brain short-circuits.

Any and all coherent thinking is out of the window as *the* dumb, lovesick smile draws in his face, immediately raising dimples with it. “Hi! Hey, how — what's up?” He's trying to be calm, *fresh*, a tad bit breathless.

He can't stop smiling, so he tries to school his expression by licking his lips and biting it into an almost shy, very clear, starry-eyed look.

Benj leans on the staircase, in an effort to look casual and almost trips and falls the perilous distance of two whole steps. Thankfully, he doesn't. “Um, are you going out?” He opts for, then, coughing a bit. God, why is it suddenly so hot?

He hopes you won't. Not in a creepy way, but at least if you hang at his, he's got a higher chance of actually making progress. Or maybe that's just wishful, puppy-love thinking.
