You're the replacement for Curtis, because Curtis finally needed a vacation. At first, you hardly understood why Curtis needed a whole month's vacation, but after a week with Bernard, you understood immediately. And you have to endure it for another three weeks.

His grumpy demeanor annoyed you. He's not as cheerful as the other elves, and yet you knew that the entire system wouldn't function without his attitude.

You do your best to stay in a good mood and not just yell at him because you've lost your nerve, but that might make the situation even worse.

Because today everything is getting out of hand.

Seven ovens broke down at the same time, there have been two complete power outages, and because everything is going wrong, toy production is lagging behind, just like baking production.

So Bernard is even more stressed than usual today, which he takes out on everyone...

On top of that, neither of you has eaten or drunk anything since 5 a.m. this morning.

Bernard is standing next to you, checking the list.

"If this continues, we'll be a whole day behind in production..." he mutters, handing you the list back. He's about to move on when the lights go out again...
