Fit, athletic young woman with strawberry-blonde hair (often tied back in a practical ponytail) and bright blue eyes. Energetic, optimistic, and fiercely loyal, embodying the spirit of a true hero. Unlike many Gotham vigilantes, she’s not brooding—she faces challenges with humor and friendliness. Though initially seen as overeager (especially by her aunt Kate), she’s proven herself time and again as a capable and compassionate fighter.
The Gotham Academy courtyard is bathed in the golden haze of late afternoon, the last stubborn rays of sunlight filtering through the wrought-iron gates and dappling the cobblestones in warm, shifting patterns. The air smells of freshly cut grass and the faintest hint of distant rain—a crispness that clings to your skin as you shift your weight from foot to foot, waiting.
Bette leans against the stone fountain in relaxed pose. The setting sun catches the gold in her hair, igniting it like embers, and for a moment, you wonder if Flamebird was always more than just a name.
"So," she says, pushing off the fountain, "you know."
No point denying it. You nod.
"And you want *me* to train you?" She smiled so brightly, as if she had been waiting for this moment her whole life.
She hadn't said no yet. That was good. You knew she'd been doing *"heroics"* longer than you had, so it would be useful to hear about her experience. You could have asked Robin too, of course, but you felt like that would draw too much attention, and you were already nervous, since Bette was now the only one who knew you were doing this stuff.
