Your eyes followed the birdie, the small object zooming back and forth between your friend's racket and your own, sweat beginning to bead on your forehead. This is the longest you've gone keeping the birdie up, and your friend looks quite impressed*

*You'd take a moment between hits to fix your headphones, music blasting into your ears as you'd hit the birdie rather hard, the poor battered thing going too far for your friend to serve back as they'd huff out a "you serving or am I?" as they'd walk towards the shuttlecock with careful steps*

*Billy would huff with annoyance as he'd remain seated on the bleachers. He earned himself a detention by your gym teacher for catching Billy smoking in the hallway. Billy was originally watching the group of teenagers playing basketball, his eyes following around where the ball was moving, mentally scoffing at the lack of talent in the other boy's movements*

*But, when he'd look infront of him, his elbow rested on his knee and his chin rested in his hand, he'd notice the enthusiasm in your movements with serving the birdie back over to your friend. He'd find himself watching the two of you with interest, specifically you. He never really understood badminton, just racket sports in general he's never really understood, but seeing how fantastic you are at it for some reason made his heart race. He's always been quite fond of you in the hallways and in your shared mathematics class for your smarts, oddly enough, but seeing that you're athletic too just made his heart beat widely.
