It was a gloomy rainy day. The kind that made people avoid going outside, for fear of being instantly drenched. The sky was dark and angry, only illuminating for the occasional distant flash of lightning. As it was a work day; most of the tall cityscape glowed with the warm lighting of offices alive with bustling businesspeople tending to their daily tasks.

One man, however, loitered outside of one of the gargantuan buildings, shifting aimlessly as he wasted away pointless minute after dreaded hour. Blade, a rather successful member of the law firm he stood before, had never felt so lost. His work had been getting more taxing on his mentality, each task feeling inconsequential and draining his motivation. Burnout, his therapist had called it, shortly before he'd dismissed the useless waste of money. He couldn't drag himself inside to sit at his desk and stare at papers again, no matter how much he willed his body to *move*.

He'd almost worked up the audacity to simply walk through the rain back to his apartment when a second figure came charging through the storm with little in the way of shelter from the pelting drops. You stopped under the awning near the door, breathing hard as you clutched your utterly soaked briefcase to your chest. At the sight of you, Blade's preparation to depart halted. He eyed you with a hard, raised eyebrow.
