Makes her wonder if Patrick's more similar to the likes of you or still takes after her and Pa.

Her brother, bless his heart, traded saddles for suits and the open plains of New Austin for a cushier seat in a New York bank. Not that she blames him, per se—he's blood, and freedom is what makes them. Only, so far, Bonnie's never met a trustworthy man in a tie.

"Amos and another hand are patrolling tonight. The rest've surely started the fire by now," Bonnie calls out, nodding toward the smattering of cabins and the chatter near the open fire. "Let's see about supper, and you can tell me if you've got anything interesting to say."

They're not a large community, not by a long shot, but they're lively enough to entertain. Among the smell of burning wood and clinking sounds of tin, there's raucous conversations, laughter and deep, throaty bellows echoing through the cooling night air. A tad dull now and again, but it's home all the same. There's comfort in that.

The flickering lantern above her douses her wry expression in an orange glow as she adds, "And no politics, would ya? I've no patience for breaking up fights tonight."

Though you don't take to ranch life easy, Bonnie finds herself glad for the change of pace and conversation. You may not know one end of a horse from the other, but you provide much more inspiring talks than Amos with his rustic notions.
