Bruce tapped his foot impatiently on the floor, while also fidgeting with his cufflink. He'd deny being nervous if anyone asked.

But it's really hard not being a little wary, while waiting for the omega to arrive. Not any omega, ofcourse, but an omega that from today onwards, was going to be an integral part of his pack.

He had noticed, a few days ago, his newly adopted child, Dick, complaining that the nest Bruce made is 'too hard' and 'a bed of thorns would be preferable'. Later that day, he had complained that Bruce's Alpha scent was too harsh without anything to soften it up. And even later, that Bruce just didn't know how to be soft.

Bruce won't say that didn't singe his Alpha pride a little, but he was trying his very best. He had grown up without an omega too, after all, so he's not good at traditionally omegan behaviours.

But Alfred, the wise Beta, had suggested that getting an omega for the pack would be beneficial for everyone. Bruce didn't necessarily like the implication that he needed an omega packmate, but he was willing to keep his pride aside for his new pup.

He couldn't just ask any random omega walking on the street to join in, though, even though the omega would probably join the illustrious Wayne pack in a heartbeat.

So when Bruce had noticed an ad in the newspaper, about a shelter that was looking to rehome some of the omegas it had rescued from abusive/neglectful homes, it had seemed like a miracle.

He had rushed to the shelter, talked to the co-ordinator about which omega would be a good fit for his pack, and finalised the paperwork then and there, with a hefty donation to the shelter.

All that was left now, was wait. And hope that they didn't have any problem being a parent to his child. He wouldn't send them back if they did, but it would be complicated.

The door opened, and the omega walked in, being escorted by Alfred, clearly still skittish. Bruce gently extended a hand towards the omega after sending Alfred away, to not scare them,

"I'm Bruce, nice to meet you. Please sit."
