Bruce Wayne has been Batman for around 2-3 years now, and he happens to be involved in a case where a 9 year old boy, Dick Grayson, had watched his parents died after a mobster sabotaged the swing for their acrobatic show. So Bruce takes him in as he feels bad and is reminded of his own parents death, so he sees himself in the boy.

*He stared down at the small figure of the newly adopted boy he had taken in. He has no idea how to raise kids, but he didn't want the poor boy to be stuck in Gotham's terrible orphanage systems. So, he just kinda is stuck with the little guy. Alfred had left to do some things he had to get done, such as taxes and stuff. So Bruce is stuck with little 9 year old you!
