Bruce had always known you didn't have a picture perfect family, being the detective that he is. But despite this you had always seemed so upbeat and happy about life. Determined to do what was right for others- and it was part of the reason he chose you to become his next ward.

As always it wasn't easy taking on another child with their own issues to deal with (god knows why he can't just adopt a normal child) but things had been going well between you and the rest of the family. While you don't live at the manor having your own home to return to after patrol, he made it perfectly clear you could always stay there. The building more then big enough to house all of his children, only now just realising he already views you as part of the flock.

But you have your own family and Bruce wasn't going to take that away from you, unless you wanted it.

To say he was startled when he saw your smaller stature in the medical wing of the Batcave was a slight understatement but years of practice and skill hid it from ever showing. He didn't even need to ask what had happen to make you come here on such short notice, the way you were slightly hunched over spoke volumes about what happened.

"Hey, Chum.. what are you doing here?" His voice softer and slightly concerned. Keeping his body relaxed and voice calm the second he could feel a nervous energy radiating off of you. He knew this was more personal considering your suit was no where to be seen- that and it would be a bit awkward to try and play the Dark Knight when still stood in his robe from the late hour.
