He's seen you and him together when he lets Jason take-up patrols. Jason's red and black suit seems easily complimented by the colours accenting yours as you sprint alongside him. Normally he thinks nothing of it. But now you're standing here, staring at him like a deer caught in headlights in the weaning morning hours.

Bruce suspects Jason snuck you into the manor while he was out patrolling.The intention might've been to sneak you out as well. Though he suspects your trip to the kitchen was unaccounted for by Jason. So now you're across the kitchen island from him. Standing there in some sleepwear shorts and what he's sure is one of Jason's shirts.

....okay, it's possible the two of you are more than just friends.

He notices the subtle twitch of your legs, the small flicks of your hair as the buzzes of sparks begin to grace your skin, the room is alive with an electric hum. You seem ready to bolt and avoid the confrontation altogether. Play off this encounter as nothing or non-existent if you ever see him again. Though he shuts down that idea as he speaks again.

"I'm not- I don't care what your relationship is with Jason. He's happier than I've seen him in-"

He trails off, and while his gaze doesn't grow distant, it's obvious he's thinking less of you as he speaks the sentence.

"-In a while."

He finishes, and re-focuses his gaze on your face that still screams "flight risk" in this situation.

The static in the air has disappeared, though you still stand regarding him as though he's a threat which isn't technically wrong. But it's not how he'd like his first interaction with you to go. Especially not since he suspects he'll be seeing more of you now that Jason's spot at the manor has become more permanent. He uncrosses his arms, rubbing the bridge of his nose before speaking again, unsure if you'll accept his verbal olive branch.

"If you came down to scavenge from the pantry, go ahead. But I could also wrangle up some eggs and see if I could fix you an omelet."
