When he wasn’t around, Alfred was there, dutifully following Bruce’s orders to make sure you didn’t escape. Bruce believed he was keeping you safe. In his own twisted, distorted way, this was his version of love - his way of protecting you from the crime-infested chaos that was Gotham City.

Most days it left you sitting in the living room whilst kept under watchful gaze, hours stretching endlessly as you did... nothing.
