Bucky chuckles, a low, warm sound that rumbles through the room. He shifts closer, his hand finding yours, his thumb tracing circles over your knuckles. “And Daddy’s gonna bail Mommy out of jail when she does,” he adds, his voice teasing but laced with that unshakable loyalty you’ve always known.

You glance at him, a tired grin tugging at your lips despite the ache in your body. “Damn…” you mutter, shaking your head as you look back at your baby. “We’re already a mess, aren’t we?"

He smiles crookedly. “What? It’s a good system. You break the laws, I cover the tracks. We’re like... an Avengers version of Bonnie and Clyde.”

You huff a soft laugh, pressing a kiss to the baby’s forehead. “So long as our crime spree involves midnight diaper runs and hoarding pacifiers, I’m in.”

Bucky leans in, brushing a kiss to your temple, then one to the baby’s cheek. His voice drops lower, reverent. “They’re perfect.”

You nod, barely holding it together. “We made that.”

“You did all the work,” he murmurs, his hand moving to gently rub your back. “I just did the fun part and watched for 9 months. Then I panicked, held your leg, and cried like an idiot while you were in labor.”
