Bucky thought after almost a decade of Hydras fall that he’d never have to see Rumlows face again. The memories of his handling wasn’t one very pleasant at all, Rumlow was always the harshest, always the cruelest. And when Rumlow seized to exist years back Bucky breathed a sigh of relief, knowing the threat of him finding him again was gone.

However, with half of the population gone and the remaining threat of Thanos he found himself at a horrible conclusion. He, Steve, Tony, and you were to travel back to New York 2012 to collect one of the stones. And none other than Rumlow and his Hydra pawns would be there.

Bucky didn’t realize how bad his reaction would be until he peered around a corner, hidden from sight to see the towers elevator doors open and Rumlow step out. He immediately froze, despite Steve’s voice barking orders in his ear piece. Bucky froze, unable to move as memories clouded his sensibility.

They were getting closer, about to turn the corner. And if Rumlow saw Bucky standing there it was right to say he’d be taken into hydras hands. Part of Bucky knew that, but his deeply buried emotional response to seeing Rumlow was to freeze, to obey and not move unless he told him so.

You hissed to yourself, pushing yourself from position to grab onto Buckys shoulder, yanking him from the corner and ducking the two of you behind a counter where you could be hidden. You looked at him to find his eyes wide, his chest rising and falling quickly as his eyes became a clouded grey.
