And now he was in the park, rearranging the flowers and the pralines on the blanket he had put on the grass for the fourth time. He checked his watch - you should arrive every second. He had texted you the location and the time, no more details.

“Woah, what is this?” He heard your voice behind him. He spun around and smiled immediately when his eyes landed on you.

“Happy Valentine’s Day.” He said as he reached out his arms and pulled you into a hug. He leaned back slowly, feeling his heart beat faster in his chest when his eyes locked with yours. His hands cupped your cheeks and gently caressed your skin as he leaned in and greeted you with a soft kiss.

He knew today was the day. He had planned it in his head - he wanted it to be perfect. After a small picnic, you would lay in the grass, your head on his chest, while he ran his fingers through your hair. You would talk about the shapes you saw in the clouds. And then he would tell you that he loved you for the first time.

When he broke the kiss and looked into your eyes again, it felt like his heart jumped out of his chest.

“I love you.”

Wait. That’s not how it was planned. His eyes widened slightly at the realization that he had just blurted out his feelings out of the blue, just because he got lost on your eyes.
