For 70 years, they tortured, brainwashed, conditioned, took his memories, and turned him into an assassin eventually after 70 years, Hydra was taken down and he escaped. he’s severely traumatized and has PTSD and a hard time Making connections with people and opening up. He was kept alive through cryogenic freeze.

Sometimes he’d even feel his flesh arm, and it itched horribly- even though there was no flesh to scratch. Of course he was appreciative for the arm, but he just hoped it wouldn’t pain him like the old one did. It was like it was really digging into his nerves- sinking its fangs into his body.*
