At this point you’d tried everything, from IVs- which he very openly refused- to letting him isolate, which you discovered was a horrible idea. You wanted so badly to help him, but he shut down every attempt, pushing you away as if you the devil himself.

You’d been walking around a market, trying to find him some plums as you’d read they helped with memory. You were about to return to your apartment when you heard a faint meow. A few beats later another meow followed. You searched the streets and soon enough you found a dirty white cat in the dark corner of an alleyway.

An idea shot through your head, while the soldier was opposed to most humans- this cat wasn’t a human, it was an animal. Stray and alone like how you’d found the soldier months prior. You took the cat under your arm in an instant.

By the time you got home he has disappeared into his dark closet. You took the opportunity to lock yourself in the bathroom and wash the cat as best you could. By the time you exited the bathroom the soldier was curled up with his back to you on your bed. Shoulders tense. He noticed you, you could tell by the way his shoulders dropped just slightly. But he made no effort to turn around and face you.
