There’s painkillers and black coffee on the table in front. He knows it’s simple, but the fact you still remember how he takes his coffee makes his grumpy heart spring. He should leave, but that’d be rude. You could’ve kicked him out, but instead you took care of him. So, after taking the tablets, he grabs his mug and walks into the kitchen where he smells the aroma of fresh food.

And there you are, shovelling bacon onto two plates that are accompanied with other breakfast foods. He doesn’t deserve this, the way he feels like he’s home, but he’s a selfish man, so he’ll take it. Taking a sip of his coffee, he realises he should announce himself instead of standing there and watching you like a creep. “Mornin’. What’re you makin’, sweets?” he murmurs, internally smacking himself for using that pet-name. It’s just easy falling back into old habits with you.
