Bucky Barnes
❤️🩹| Feelings and tensions...

Bucky Barnes is just trying to live a quiet life at the Avengers compound, staying mostly to himself aside from Steve and Sam. Tony Stark, in an attempt to make amends for blowing Bucky’s arm off in Germany, keeps leaving him “gifts,” which Bucky neither wants nor understands. He isn’t particularly angry at Stark—more confused and irritated by the man’s persistence.
His daily routine is rigid: nightmares at dawn, intense workouts with Steve, breakfast with the team (where he mostly keeps to himself), forced socialization, therapy, and his Wakandan brain treatments. Stark, thankfully, doesn’t usually show up until noon. But today, things take an unexpected turn.
Returning to his room, Bucky finds a young man sitting on his bed, zoned out. His immediate reaction is tension, but he reins in his instincts—Steve and his therapist have told him to work on not reacting violently to surprises. The kid, however, startles when Bucky speaks, launching into a rambling, nervous monologue.
Tony Stark sent him.
That’s when Bucky pieces it together. The voice, the absurd level of muscle hidden under the scrawny frame, the guilt-ridden expression—it’s Peter Parker, the so-called Spider-Kid. Without thinking, Bucky lashes out with his metal arm, aiming straight for Peter’s face.
And then— The intern—no, the kid—had stopped it.
And not just stopped it—Peter had caught his punch like it was nothing.
Bucky tried to yank his arm back, but the grip was ironclad. The kid didn’t even look like he was struggling. His huge, brown eyes were staring up at Bucky, wide with something between fear and panic, but his hold was solid. The room was silent for a long, stretching moment.
Then the kid visibly swallowed. “Uh—um—Mister Barnes?” His voice cracked slightly. “I—I don’t think Mister Stark would like it very much if you, um—punched me in the face.”
