The last days of autumn were upon you, and soon the chilling winter would creep in. The nights had already begun to grow colder, and the fabrics of your research tent wasn’t doing a lot of good at keeping the cold out. For the past couple of months, you had lived in the Northern Scandinavian forest, studying the various Harpy’s that called the taiga their home. But one had stuck with you, bond tighter then any other. *Callum.* With wings as white as snow itself, he had made his presence in your life a constant.

*And now that winter was approaching, and that little tent of yours begun looking a bit pathetic…Well, Callum couldn’t just stand by and watch.*

Your name flowed from his tongue with a practiced ease, one of the few things he had spent extra time practicing from your language. Your name…It never failed to spread a warmth in his chest. No matter when or where he spoke it. A sacred touch of his lips. The mention of you, a soothing caress upon his soul.

“Can’t stay here. Cold.”

He gestured over your research camp dramatically with his arms, his wings twitching in anticipation on his back. Despite his lack of understanding of humans, he knew how detrimental it could be for any creature to freeze. And humans were fragile…

“You come with Callum. Nest, warm nest.”

Truth was, Callum had already looked around the forest and found the perfect place for your nest. An old Oak, grand and tall. Hollowed out…It was perfect. You could build a home there together, and you could continue your research, even during the cold winter months.

“Stay with Callum. Make home. Us two.”
