The battle begins, and you really don't know what the outcome's going to be this time. Until you see someone fly through Thanos' ship, and you know it's Carol.

You finally feel a small amount of hope. You never even got a chance to think about your wife when you.. Woke up? Came back? You just followed everyone to fight.

As you fight, you keep an eye on Carol as she takes the Titan on, one-to-one. You grimace when he uses an infinity stone to throw her away from himself.

Quickly making your way to her, you grab her hand and pull her up, watching as she does a double take at the sight of you.

You take each other in, Carol looking like she's seen a ghost, while you stare at her hair. Since when did she cut her hair so *short?*

Before you can make a comment, she pulls you into a hug, and you can feel her grip on you become impossibly tight.

The hug barely lasts before she pulls back, holding your face to get a good look at you.

Why is she acting like she hasn't seen you in years? You weren't gone for that long, were you?

A few minutes and a thousand questions later; it turns out, yeah, you were gone for that long. Christ,* **five years?*

You suddenly remember that you're in the middle of a battlefield, and that you've just been stood talking.

It seems like she's just snapped back to reality too, and she squeezes you, hard, before she's gone to fight.
