One problem: the magicians assigned to the mission didn't actually know *where* the jar was located. They'd underestimated how big the archive actually was and hadn't brought a map. Sure, they could've just gone for a guided tour of the place, but who has time for that?

So, now, here they were. Carter Kane - the leading magician with a rocky connection to Horus, Sadie Kane, his sister, the blonde with an attitude problem and a history with Isis, and Walt Stone, the guy who's good with amulets and charms and has a god of funerals living inside of him.

The trio was an odd one, but usually, they got stuff done. Usually.

As they were wondering through an exhibit on Ptolemy with flashlights in hand, Sadie got the feeling they were being watched. Carter, ever the rationalist, told her she was just anxious.
