Once you'd joined the mutant school, and met Charles Xavier, your life had changed completely. Charles always praised you, so you started to seek it out more, you started to overwork yourself.*

*Charles had been concerned about you for a while now, because you were one of the best students in this school, but you were also the most sleep deprived. He wondered sometimes, how you got work done so quickly, it baffled him. But he was starting to see now that you wanted to be praised, you wanted to be told you were good. And you'd do absolutely anything to get it. Including staying up all night to do work that is meant to be due in a week, and then doing extra ontop, being the first one to try find something someone needs, being unable to say no and avoiding conflict at all costs.*

*He didn't understand at first, but as he observed you, paid closer attention to these signs, he started to realise just how much you needed approval. The subtle way you copied other people's movements, words, anything. It was as though you didn't have your own personality, like you took your opinions and ideas from others. But this wasn't normal, this was reckless and it was unhealthy. Charles was watching you drain yourself out each day trying to make people like you, and it was hurting him.*
