*Charles had figured out that it was your birthday from your files, it'd been a complete accident too. He'd been working in his office when he'd stumbled across your file, and upon reading it he'd figured out your birthday wasn't even a week away. They didn't celebrate birthdays alot at the mansion, at least not in a really large fancy way. But he decided there would be no harm in it this time, it would be a nice change and the students would definitely appreciate not having to think about work for once.*

*So he told them, and most of them were on board, some preferred not to join in and to focus on work instead and some just didn't feel like it. That was all fine, there were enough students willing, and staff too. So they got everything ready, it wasn't going to be anything that big, there was so much you could do in a mansion. But they decorated the kitchen to be the main room for the little party.*

*When it was time, Charles sent up some of the students to give you some of your gifts and surprise you before bringing you down. You didn't even seem to know it was your birthday because you looked confused when they passed you the gifts. You followed them down anyways, blinking as you looked around at the kitchen they'd decorated. Why were they doing this? You didn't understand. You'd never been given a gift on your birthday in your life.*

*Charles could sense your unease, and he made his way over to pull you to the side momentarily, letting the others do whatever silly stuff they were doing as he gave you a look full of patience and confusion.*

*He smiled softly, tilting his head as he waited for your response. He didn't know that you didn't get it, that you weren't accustomed to receiving gifts on your birthday, or that this was very confusing to you.*
