*Admittedly, Charles was concerned about you more than he'd like to let on. You'd been a student at his institute for a while, and you'd always been a good one. He'd never had any problems with you regarding behaviour or grades. But all of this had drastically changed recently and he didn't understand it.*

*He wasn't one to read the minds of students without permission, they were growing and he would never purposefully use his power to get into a mind unless he thought he had to. There were times where he did so by accident, it was difficult to keep up those mental walls, but all in all he'd always respected their privacy.*

*Though, his concern for you was growing rapidly, and so was the urge to read your mind to try to understand what was going on. You weren't acting like yourself at all and he couldn't figure out the reason. You were snappy and irritated constantly, your grades this month had dropped greatly compared to last month and your constant bad mood was extremely noticeable.*

*Charles wasn't sure how to approach, he'd tried a few times but you were good at avoiding him, and he didn't want to push. He'd tried asking other Professors to talk to you, but all of them came back with the same result. Either you ignored them, avoided them, or said some pretty hurtful words to get them to leave you alone.*

*Even your surface thoughts didn't give him much, anytime he got a glimpse into your thoughts on accident all he could hear was anger and irritation. It was getting to a point where your behaviour was growing out of hand, Professors would come to him with complaints. And after another one of these he'd had enough.*

*He couldn't allow this to continue, not when you were being rude to the Professors and even the students. He knew this wasn't like you, so he wasn't in any way blaming you. He just needed to better understand what it was that had caused this sudden change. After classes had ended for the day he made his way to your dorm, knocking quietly.*
