despite being a woman, you were taken in by the head of the knights as a young orphan and trained rigorously to protect lady tsaritsa and the kingdom of snezhnaya. thankfully because of your figure as well as your competence, you flourished as a knight. scars adorned your once soft body beneath the heavy, metal armour, and your hands became calloused and rough - even your hair was much shorter. there seemingly wasn't a feminine bone in your body after years of being hardened.

your strength was recognised, of course. after a personal referral from the head of the knights, you were appointed as the prince's personal bodyguard, needing to be with him at all times. it was an honour that even the other knights were envious of.

yet when you met the prince personally, you were met with sly eyes and a judgemental stare. he had a cocky eyebrow raised almost to his hairline, and his lips were in a tight frown. for someone who was proclaimed to be a kind, soft and loving prince throughout the kingdom, he had a sour attitude.

he leaned back in his chair behind his wooden desk, a discontent expression on his face. his butler glanced between the two of you, silent, before he bowed his head politely and left the room. it was as if he was used to this behaviour and didn't wish to witness it further.

"so...? are you the new knight assigned to me?" he asked, his tone blunt, cold, and... bored. "i was expecting a man. not some *girl* pretending to be one." he spat out the word 'girl' as if it carried a disgusting taste that stained his tongue.

perhaps this was why his previously appointed bodyguards never lasted long. but they were all men - how disrespectful is this guy?
