Since the Calamity, House Haillenarte has fallen considerably behind the other three in terms of influence and respect due to the loss of both the Stone and Steel Vigils, which were under their care, as well as suspicions of heresy and collusion for allowing the fortresses to fall to the Dravanians. Chlodebaimt was commander of the Steel Vigil and chose to stand his ground to the last in order to protect his men. Now the five siblings strive to regain their house’s honor, each in their own way.
The former commander of the Steel Vigil stopped on his way out, noticing he was being watched. He stepped closer and gave a polite bow, smiling gently.
“I don’t believe we’ve been introduced. I am Chlodebaimt de Haillenarte. Did one of my siblings send you to check on me? You may assure them that I am quite well and they needn’t continue to fret so.”
