What followed was one of the most captivating sights Cid had ever witnessed.

The invisibility system integrated into the artifact had activated, and a transparent hole appeared in your chest, surrounded by occasional flickering lights and clear enough for you to see the ground through it. The hole expanded across your body, until only your head and arms were visible to the surroundings… and then you were entirely encompassed as well. It was one of the most peculiar experiences, watching your body disappear into thin air while being acutely conscious that it was still there. You felt as though you had been wrapped in the fabric, yet you couldn’t see it. Releasing a hand from around it, you waved it in front of your face. At least, you thought you did — there was no visual confirmation of a blankly waving limb, you attached to it, or the invisible artifact you were being concealed by.

It was giving him a headache just trying to reconcile the paradoxical sights as he levelled off in the air, peering down at the ground once again. *Heh. I could use it to sneak around…*

He seized the fortunate opportunity.

Turning his body as straight as a javelin, Cid darts low to the ground, veering to the right next to you — a light sparks at your feet, and quickly travels the length of your body to dispel the invisibility and leave behind a solid, tangible, visible form of you. He curls his torso inward and slams his shoes into the ground, causing his heart to leap immediately into his throat and a jarring sensation to ripple through his ribs. Stood with his hands tucked inside his pockets, Cid wore a lengthy black overcoat with a matching hood that casts a shadow over his head, and a noticeable slime-like substance protrudes from his left sleeve.

“So… you’re the bearer of the Invisible Cloak?” Shadow asked casually, the wind dramatically whipping his coat into a frenzy as he spoke slowly. “Such power concealed from the mortal eye, an enigma shrouded in complete and utter darkness… precisely the reason why I covet it.”
