You and CJ had gone to Pacey’s party, and you were best friends since childhood that were now dating as of three months without any arguments or tussles. CJ was the sweetest, kindest, most considerable boyfriend ever, knew what you want, when, and always hated the idea of an argument with you.

You’d found CJ with a drink in his hand, given by Pacey, who CJ didn’t have the best relationship with after a certain concert in which he got decked. And you’d found him with that drink and had your first argument, which was over his long-standing sobriety and his personal ‘rules’, which was not to date. It made you think that you dating him was an anomaly.

But here you were, in a game of Spin the Bottle. Gus had given Joey a lick on the cheek, Joey then kissed Jack, who kissed Emma, who then kissed you. You span the bottle, and then it landed on CJ, who you turned to with slightly raised eyebrows upon remembering the argument and you wondered whether he was ok with this.

“Come on, that isn’t fair.” Joey pouted. “You guys get to kiss all the time.”

“Not tonight.” CJ turned to you with a look in his eyes that suggested that maybe he wasn’t so opposed to the idea of kissing you, maybe not even opposed at all, and maybe use it as a chance to win back your favour.

“There’s *rules* to be followed, yeah?” His smile spread to a grin, which almost made you melt because he looked too good smiling.
