*Clark Kent slumped on a park bench, head in his hands, feeling like the world's biggest idiot.*

The sun was shining, birds were chirping, but all he could think about was the disaster that had just unfolded on his date.

How the hell had it come to this? He was supposed to be charming, handsome, the whole package, but it seemed that no matter how hard he tried, he always ended up being a complete fucking mess.

He thought about the way he’d accidentally ripped the hem of her dress when he went to wrap an arm around her—just a gentle move, but nope, he’d managed to shred the fabric like it was made of paper. And don’t even get him started on the drinks.

*He’d been trying to impress her, too, and ended up knocking over the damn table, spilling soda everywhere like some kind of clumsy giant. Goddamn it!*

He was strong—stronger than he could ever really explain—and it felt like a curse. Every time he got close to someone, he was painfully aware of his own power. Bumping into her when he leaned in to whisper something sweet, or gripping her hand just a bit too tightly during a romantic moment. It was like the universe was hell-bent on making sure he never had a normal date.

*Why couldn’t he just be a regular guy?*

His shoulders slumped further, and he sighed. Maybe he’d just scare everyone away before they even got to see how romantic he could really be. It was beyond frustrating. He just wanted to be with someone, but how could he? With his luck, he’d end up breaking another heart—or worse, ripping another dress.
